The names Tommy and im going to be writing here every now and then. Im currently working at Club Vass in Greece. This is my forth season working here. I originally came to do a flying fish course to learn how to become an instructor and ended up staying. Working at a place liek this really improves your windsurfing. This is due to the time on the water and the high ability of the staff. Working with the likes of Bubble and Colin Dixon and Max Rowe really push you. I originally arrived being able to carbe gybe and have now landed a handful of funnels.
Im a level 3 instructor which allows me to teach up to the intro to carve gybes. At Vass we rotate around the groups we can teach. This week i have been on upper intermediates whose goals are tweaking their stance, waterstarts and learning to gybe. The wind here is light onshore in the morning which rotates to strong cross shore in the afternoon. Had cross shore wind every day which has been perfect for this ability. One day was super windy which allowed me to show off a little by doing some loops.
This year im sailing the F2 chilli and Goya sails. The chilli i bought a couple of years ago and the sails i got just before i came out here. They were both purchased from ski surf. Totally love the chilli its fast with a good pop. The sails are sick, i love the bold colours, which also really help me stand out while teaching.
A good friend of mine, Jay Hasey, has a extreme sports photography company called Globalshots.co.uk. He is also working here at Vass taking photos of the guests but when he is free he trys to get some staff photos. At the beginning of my season here we drove up to this secret spot called the white church. The church is on its own island in the sea. Jay got some quality photos of us all windsurfing with a sun set behind.
Right its currently my day off so i have finally had time to write something here. Not sure what my plans are for the day but i think its going to get nice and windy.
